This week’s featured website, Woot.com, pioneered the “one day one deal” marketing on the internet. They are online retailers based at Carrollton, Texas focusing on selling cool stuff for cheap. They offer one item for sale per day. It can be anything from a comic book to HDTV and the price they sell them for it unbeatable. The important thing to remember is the items being sold are limited in quantity and usually they are sold out.

New deal is posted to the website every day at midnight (12AM) and the deal continues for 24 hours. If the item is sold out before the 24 hours there will be no other item for sale; hence the theme – one day one deal. They also have separate sub-sites that sell cool design shirts at shirt.woot.com and another one selling wine only at wine.woot.com. Also they feature a “deal of the day” at sellout.woot.com which redirects to the deal of the day page at Yahoo Shopping. The deal is same everywhere – one item per day.
