Just like load shedding and other holidays, it seems like we, the Nepalese, could also do with a schedule for bandhs because they happen so frequently no matter how petty the causes. For instance, twenty-two political parties, including the CPN-Maoist and other fringe parties enforced a bandh in Kathmandu Valley on Thursday (March 14, 2013) from 12:00 noon- 5:00 pm (later moved from 1:00 pm-6:00 pm) in protest of the formation of an election government under the chief justice.
As always, normal life in the country was hit hard due to the protests. Vehicular movement came to a halt as bandh organisers took out demonstrations at various places in the Capital. Cadres of the parties clashed with police personnel at Panipokhari in Kathmandu during the protest.
