A suspect in connection with murder of Nepali woman, Samira Siwakoti in The Colony, Texas have finally been caught.
Police arrested Deon Kingston Jr. on a charge of murder in the shooting death of Siwakoti. The 31-year-old wife and mother of two young children was shot dead at the Rapido convenience store on June 10.
According to the Colony Police Chief David Coulon, an anonymous tip led them to a home in Frisco where Kingston was staying. Police reported he came to the Rapido convenience store, owned by Siwakoti and her husband, to buy a drink. He then shot Siwakoti as she stood behind the counter, shortly after he robbed her and fled with cash from the register.
Siwakoti and her husband owned the store on Main Street in The Colony.
According to police, as police moved in on its suspect, Kingston fled the home but was apprehended a short time later while hiding nearby in the neighborhood.
Coulon said there are other “persons of interest” in the robbery and they expect several other arrests in the next couple weeks. Kingston also faces an aggravated robbery charge for another convenience store robbery last month in Frisco.
The Colony police said Kingston may also be linked to an armed robbery at a Cash-N-Go on Main Street in The Colony just days before the murder.
Hearing about the arrest, several of Siwakoti’s customers stopped by the convenience store to share their well wishes for the family.
