The warning issued by the U.S. Department of States against travel to Nepal earlier this year has been canceled because of the improved political situation in Nepal.
The U.S. Department of State believes that the conditions in Nepal have improved considerably and threat to U.S. citizens has significantly decreases as the political situation in the country is stabilizing, the Associated Press reported.
The communist insurgency in Nepal led to a decade long civil war in the country. Nepal is trying to recover from the unrest that ended in 2006 only to be followed by political instability. The current government led by PM Dr Baburam Bhattarai has made arrangements between political parties that have given hope that things would return to normal in Nepal.
Nepal government is working hard to attract tourists from around the world. This year has been promoted as Nepal Tourism Year 2011 and 2012 will be promoted as Visit Lumbini Year 2012 with an aim to make the birthplace of Buddha a center of global attraction.
