Once the news about the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu requesting for fuel from the Nepal Oil Corporation broke out, the social media went on a frenzy and started a campaign to donate oil to the embassy.
Several users have taken to networking sites like Facebook and Twitter to urge everyone to donate the oil-stricken embassy and help them at times of need using hashtag #DonateOilToIndianEmbassy.
The embassy had written to NOC for 100-150 litres of fuel. India has put restrictions on the Nepal bound cargo from boRder points for last two weeks. Since then, there has been a dire shortage of fuel in Nepal.
A oil donation program is being held in front of the Indian Embassy, Lazimpat where those who wish to donate the embassy of our neighbouring country the precious fuel.
The hashtag #DonateOilToIndianEmbassy is trending on Twitter worldwide. It is currently at the top of the list.
