In the midst of the current energy crisis in the country, the importance of renewable energy has been realized more than ever. Hence, in an effort to promote Renewable Energy Technologies in Nepal to battle such crises, Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) under the Ministry of Population and Environment is organizing ‘Renewable Energy Exhibition 2016’ from January 1-3 in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
Carrying the slogan, “Renewable Energy for Energy Security”, the expo aims to create awareness about renewal energy among the general public as an effective alternative to address the present energy crisis.
The visitors would also get knowledge about the Nepal government initiated subsidy and soft loan provision for urban solar, waste to energy program, and household gasification technology.
A total of 125 stalls related to renewable energy technologies like hydro-power, solar energy, biogas, wind energy, improved cooking stove and renewal energy related projects done by the students would be put on display in the expo.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to inaugurate the event amidst a function on January 1.
The organizer has allowed the visitors free entrance.
