Most of us remember Charlie Chaplin as that special character in silent black/white movies that we used as kids. He always managed to make us laugh no matter what, hence is known as one of the greatest comedians the world has ever seen. But what many of us may not know is that he was also a prominent director and screenwriter which is evident in his self-produced film The Great Dictator. Chaplin spent two years developing the script and even to this day, people talk about the six-minute speech in which he looked straight at the camera and professed his personal beliefs.
