Some 70 cadres of the Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist have been arrested from different parts of Kathmandu Valley during the nationwide strike enforced by the party on Monday (July 25, 2016).
The general strike by Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist has affected the lives of daily commuters across the country. Few vehicles are seen running on the road while markets, shops and restaurants as well as educational institutions are forced to pull down their shutters.

A Rautahat-bound bus was bombed on Saturday evening (Nov 16, 2013) at Satungal in Kathmndu. Nine people, including a five-year-old girl and thirteen-year-old boy, were reported to be seriously injured when bandh enforcers hurled a petrol bomb at the bus (Na 4 Kha 5200) at around 7:30 pm.
