Bird Flu has been found in chickens of a number of poultry farms across Kathmandu. Chitwan has banned chicken from the capital.

Bird Flu Hits Kathmandu, Over 2000 Chicken Culled
The H5N1 virus has been detected at another poultry farm in Kathmandu. Hence, rapid response teams from the District Animal Health Office, Kathmandu culled all 2,240 chickens at the farm on December 26.
Over 5,000 Chickens Culled In Itahari and Jhapa
After it was confirmed that more chickens of PK Poultry farm in Itahari were infected with bird flu, 4853 chickens were culled on Sunday (February 12). Eggs and chicken feed have also been destroyed completely. Just a week ago, 3500 chickens had died of the H5N1 virus at the farm.
1,300 chickens destroyed
Around 1,300 chickens and 200 ducks at Manohara Landless Squatters´ Settlement have been destroyed on 29th November, Tuesday on the suspicion of bird flu.
