The Dornier 9HAHB aircraft of Sita Air was crashed on Saturday morning at Simikot airport, Humla district at around 7:10. The plane took off from Nepalgunj with cargo for Humla.
As reported by Myrepublica, the aircraft met with an accident while landing after touching the runway as the right wing of the aircraft touched the ground said Bhola Prasad Guruagain, Regional Director at Nepal Civil Aviation Authority.
Five persons including two crew members—Captain Kiran Bhattarai and Co-pilot Deepak Shah– were on the board.
Guragain further informed that although the most parts of plane have sustained damages, no human causalities have been reported in the incident.
The aircraft crashed after its wings hit the wall while landing due to heavy fog at the runway.
