A shootout took place at Bishnupur Chowk along the Choharwa-Siraha road section during the wee hours of Monday (May 12, 2014) when a person was critically injured.

The Himalayan Times reported a gang of two to three attackers on motorcycles opened fire at one Jogindra Paswan alias Jogi, a permanent resident of Laxmipur-2 of Siraha district.

According to witnesses, Paswan was shot at four times. Police said that he has received a bullet on waist and his arm. It has been learnt that he has been ferried to Biratnagar for medical treatment.

The firing took place when Paswan was on his way back home from Bishnupur Chowk at around 5 am.

Police informed that they are looking for the shooters and that investigations are underway.
