For seven years, National Geographic has been searching across the globe to find Adventurers of the Year. In other words, they strive to introduce outstanding individuals who have made remarkable achievements in exploration, conservation, and adventure sports in a particular year. This year, they have selected men and women who are pioneering innovation in the world of adventure. And landing under their selection are a duo from our homeland Nepal!
Lakpa Tsheri Sherpa and Sano Babu Sunuwar are the two Nepalis who completed a mission to launch a paraglider from Mount Everest’s summit and kayak the Ganges to the Indian Ocean. Yes, Sherpa and Sunuwar made the Ultimate Descent. Hence, they have been chosen as one of the 10 candidates for the People’s Choice Award for their outstanding work! If you think the duo embodies the spirit of adventure the best, then place your vote for them and help them claim the title of the People’s Choice Adventurer of the Year 2012.
You can vote every day through January 18, 2012. The winner will be announced in February 2012.
