Founded to aid the landslide victims of Jure and Mankha areas of Sindhupalchowk district, ‘Sunkoshi Flood Victims Relief Fund’ has collected a total amount of Rs 9.1 million.
NepalNews.com reports according to Kamal Kumar Shrestha-the Chairman of Sindhupalchowk Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chamber along with Nepal Truck Container Entrepreneur Association and Nepal Trans Himalayan Border Commerce Association accumulated Rs 7.1 million.
Similarly, Bhotekoshi Hydropower Company provided Rs 2 million for relief distribution, said Shrestha.
The target amount to support Sunkoshi victims is Rs 10 million . Shrestha said the victims will be supported based on the severity of case.
Mankha and Tekanpur VDCs in the district were most affected due to the landslide. 33 bodies of the locals were recovered while the government presumed dead the 123 missing persons.
Meanwhile, relief materials were also collected in Myagdi district to help Jure landslide victims.
Myagdi Chamber of Commerce and Industry collected Rs 48000 on Wednesday in the district headquarters.
Nepal Students’ Union also collected Rs 18,000 for the victims.
