Amidst the wave of recent changes in the public administration, the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has formally commenced its work on the online application system for driving license from Sunday (December 25, 2016).
Director General at DoTM, Chandra Man Shrestha informed that the decision to receive online applications was made after service seekers faced hassles at the Transport Management Office, Bagmati.
Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ramesh Lekhak inaugurated the highly anticipated online application system at 3:00pm at the TMO in Ekantakuna, Lalitpur on Sunday. He was quoted saying that the TMO would start receiving and processing driving licence applications submitted online from Monday.
According to Minister Lekhak, the government had already initiated the process of opening three more outlets of the TMO, Bagmati in Kalanki, Chabahil and Bhaktapur for issuance of licence in a manner to reduce the work overload currently being faced by the Ekantakuna office.
