The nominations for Hero 18th Hits FM Music Awards are out! The nominees for the awards were announced on July 26, Saturday via a special program on Hits FM 91.2. Artists of the new generation seem to dominate this year’s nominations with newcomers Astha Raut and Nattu taking the lead with each receiving nods for six categories. Afro-jazz outfit Cadenza Collective follow next with five nominations. Previous winners Albatross have also managed to be included in four categories.
Nonetheless, we also see some senior artistes stepping up in the game. Ambar Gurung, Deepak Jangam, Deep Shrestha, Robin Sharma, Sangeeta Rana Pradhan have made it to the list of contenders.
Often held as the Grammy’s of Nepal, the awards is scheduled to take place in September. This edition will see a total of only 17 categories since the Best Pop Composition and Best Rock Composition have been merged into one category Best Pop / Rock Composition.
