Veteran singer and musician Phatteman Rajbhandari passed away at the age of 77 at 12:30 on Monday morning (September 9, 2013).
He was suffering from lung cancer and was receiving treatment in Om Hospital, Chabahil, Kathmandu, since some days.
Preparations are being made to transfer his body to the premises of the Home for the Elderly at Pashupati and it will be kept there from 10 a.m. for paying last respects, said Pradyumna Joshi, secretary at the Basu Shashi Memorial Council.
Phatteman was born on 28 November 1936. He was an accomplished singer and musician and has lent his voice to and composed music for more than 400 songs and hymns.
He is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter.
