August 16, 2011 – A Nepali store clerk at a Texaco gas station on North Belt Line Road and Northgate Drive was arrested yesterday for selling K2 and operating unlicensed game machines at the store.
K2 is a synthetic marijuana-like substance that has been banned for sale in Texas since April 22, 2011. Under the state law banning possession or sale of K2, anyone found possessing the substance is charged with a Class B misdemeanor which is punishable by up to 180 days in jail and a fine up to $4,000.
It is illegal to operate unlicensed game machines at stores and the store clerk working at the time of raid gets arrested for such offense.
The Nepali store clerk, name not disclosed yet, was a student and is now in immigration custody in Dallas.
No further details about the incident or the clerk could be known.
