Nepali cine artiste Arjun Karki has set out to climb Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest). The actor left for his expedition to the highest peak in the world on Monday.
Chairman of the Film Artistes Association of Nepal, Nawal Khadka, bade farewell to Karki, handing over Nepali flag and the association´s flag to him amidst a function at the Pashupati temple premises.
Although many people have scaled the Mt Everest so far, no artiste has made such achievement and that Karki´s journey would be historical one in the field of Nepali films. The actor is said to carry some water from the holy Bagmati river to Mt. Everest.
Artiste Karki is expected to complete his journey to the Sagarmatha on foot. He plans to complete his journey in 22 days and returns to the capital within maximum of 75 days.
Karki has acted in over 20 Nepali films including Didibhai and Bazaar.
