Nepal has topped the South Asian countries according to the latest FIFA World Rankings published by FIFA on December 21, Wednesday.
Although Nepal decended 10 places compared to the last month, the rankings published today shows that Nepal stood in the 153rd position collecting 144 points.
Nepal was in the 143rd position last month with 177 points. Bangladesh is next following Nepal at 157th position. Bangladesh, which lost 15 places compared to last month, was the leader of the region in last month’s rankings.
India is unchanged in the 162nd position of the world rankings and third in South Asia. Maldives has lost 7 places and stands at 173rd position. However, Afghanistan has ascended 1 place and claimed the 177th position.
Similarly, Pakistan is in the 179th position slipping down 5 places compared to last month’s rankings. Sri Lanka stands in the 180th position descending 4 places.
Likewise, Bhutan has claimed the 202nd position.
