Mukti Shakya wished us a Happy New Year 2016 by sharing a very rare and old video of a German friend performing the popular Nepali folk song Dalli Resham in which the veteran rocker is seen playing the guitar. Before Mukti and Revival, Mukti was in the band The Elegance with his pal Udo Kirch and they had performed the song for the then recently established Nepal Television in 1987.

This is what was written as description for the video:

“Mukti Shakya and Udo Kirch start singing nepali folk in 1987 . Mukti then had a band The Elegance. this was one of the best moment of our friendship , music creation , travelling, partying, jamming… .. finally we decided to learn our all time favorite Dalli resham for Nepal Tv live show. TV was established newly in Nepal. …we had fun playing and Udo our German friend sang very nicely in Nepali… . he knew what the song is about but not nepali language.

More than anything, you will be amazed to hear Udo’s almost perfect Nepali pronunciation!
