With the intention of celebrating love this Dashain, the highly awaited movie Mero Love Story saw its premiere on 2nd October, Sunday at Big Cinema, City Center. The event was graced by a number of celebrities but as huge the program was, the difference between the time it was supposed to begin and the time it actually started was as big, a complete three hour delay!
Produced by Prabhu S.J.B. Rana and directed by Sudarshan Thapa, the film does have a stellar cast starring Aaryan Sigdel, Reecha Sharma, Vinay Shrestha, Tripti Nadkar and others. As the name suggests, it is a love story involving a love triangle between two guys and a girl. Although there wasn’t much lacking in the picture, it did have extra things that weren’t really essential for the story. For instance, the unnecessary use of English language and the portrayal of a Nepali family that is outrageously ultramodern. And above all, it’s the tortuously elongated plot which may drive viewers to their limit of patience.
Despite few drawbacks, Mero Love Story boasts well with great cinematography and background music score as well as good soundtrack. The score has been provided by singer/musician Tsujil Karmacharya. Even singer Pramod Kharel has done good in the department of music direction. Acting isn’t that bad either, except for few characters who tended to overdo it.
In conclusion, the movie could’ve been far better had it not tried too hard in certain aspects.
