A massive fire was broke out at Jyoti Bhawan, Jamal, Kantipath on Friday (August 30, 2013). Republica reported that according to police, the fire took place at the second floor of the building at around 8 am in the morning while Ekantipur reported it erupted from the first floor. However, the cause of the fire is yet to be known.

EKantipur reports say that the fire has now been brought under control. The fire was doused after an hour by Armed Police Force, Nepal Army and locals. Five fire brigades were used to douse the inferno.

Meanwhile, security personnel rescued three office staffs from the building.

The building has Hero showroom in the ground floor, Kantipath branch of Nepal Bank Limited and Grande Hospital clinic.

Transportation was affected in the area this morning due to the incident.

The cause behind the fire is yet to be known. No human casualties have been reported so far.
