Jolly Amatya recently became the first Nepali youth to be appointed as the Chairperson of the Youth Assembly at the United Nations. Hailing from Lalitpur, Amatya has been currently living in Washington DC. As the chairperson of the Youth Assembly, she will be leading over 1,000 participants from 97 countries.
The eldest daughter to father Jagadishman Amatya and mother Krishna Amatya has also become the youngest chairperson of the Youth Assembly in the history of the United Nations.
Upon the achievement, Amatya feels this leadership opportunity is significant in her life. The Youth Assembly at the United Nations is the largest and longest-serving assembly. This unique forum will encourage dialogues.
