Nepali music lost another great personality as lyricist Binod Gauchan passed away at his own residence in Pokhara on Saturday morning (January 4, 2013) at the age of 58. He had been suffering from chest pain and kidney disease.
Gauchan is the composer of many famous Nepali songs like Jati Maya Laye Pani Jati Kasam Khaye Pani, Tagaroma Rumal Rakhi Bato Chekyeu Timle, and Dhunge Sanghuko Melama. Pokharama Phool Fuldaina is a narrative poem by Gauchan. Gauchan had also published two poem collections and had declared Lumle Village in Kaski district as poetic village.
He had served at the Town Development Training Centre Pokhara for 25 years.
His elder brother Bishwa Mohan had said his last rites would be performed on the bank of local Seti River, today.
He is survived by his spouse and a son.
