The ongoing construction of a building of a primary school in Nepal has been brought to a halt after being threatened by the Indian border security force.
Arguing that the school building under- construction at Tribhuvanbasti-3 of Kanchanpur fell in the border area, Seema Surakchya Bal (SSB) personnel asked to stop the construction work as reported by NepalNews.
The construction work was underway in the Nepali territory located some 700 meters from border pillar nos. 199 and 200.
Local administration officials and high-ranking security officials from Lakhimpur in Uttar Pradhesh of India urged to stop the construction, arguing that it fell within the disputed zone of the border, police inspector Lal Bahadur Dhami of the Area Police Office, Tribhuvanbasti said.
This has been brought to the notice of the Chief District Officer and the District Education Officer, police inspector Dhami said while adding that the construction work has however been stopped for the moment.
Meanwhile, the local residents have said that the construction work should move ahead as the school building fell under the Nepali territory.
