For the first time ever, a Nepali film will be screened alongside the best films selected from all across the globe.
“Highway,” a Nepali film directed by Deepak Rauniyar, has been selected for the Berlin International Film Festival (The Berlinale Festival), which is among reputed film festivals in the world.
The announcement was made by the organizers Wednesday (January 25). Highway will be screened in the Panorama category alongside 17 other films selected from among 8,000 entries.
“It´s a great feeling and something we all can be proud of,” said Abhinash Bikram Shah, scriptwriter of the film.
The cast of the film includes Dayahang Rai, Asha Magarati, Shristhi Ghimire, and Eelum Dixit.
The film is yet to have a worldwide release.
The festival is celebrated annually since 1978 and takes place in February every year.
