The critically acclaimed and highly appreciated television series “Hamro Team” is out in DVD which was launched at a programme held at United World Trade Center on January 28. All the 13 episodes aired on Kantipur Television from June 9 till September 1, 2011, compiled in one disc, is now available for Rs 150 in partnership with RBA films.
At the event, winners of Hamro Team online competition and nationwide essay competition were also announced as well as awarded with tokens of love and Hamro Team DVDs.
Out of selected 30 essays under the theme “Mero Sapana”, Durga Karki of Morgan International College, Kathmandu clinched the first prize, Sushma Limbu of Lord Buddha Higher Secondary School, Biratnagar received the second prize and Kishor Acharya from Argakhachi bagged the third prize. The top three winners received a cash prize of Rs 10,000, Rs 6,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively.
Hamro Team has been produced by Search for Common Ground and Common Ground Productions as part of a multi-country television campaign “The Team”. The story for the Nepali version was written by Abinash Shah, Deepak Rauniyar, and Abhimanyu Nirabi and directed by Bhushan Dahal.
Hamro Team tells the story of a girl named Seema, played by Reecha Sharma, who has a deep interest in football and pursues her passion as a coach of a local football team.
Produced by AB Pictures Pvt. Ltd, the message that the series tries to deliver is believing in oneself and the team spirit, devoid of I-Me-Mine individualistic and egoist tendencies.
