Government Decides To Convene Donor Agencies Conference On June 25

Today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers has decided to organise a national conference of the donor agencies on June 25 under the coordination of Minister for Finance, Dr Ram Sharan Mahat.

The government is going to organise the conference with an objective of mobilising financial aid for the reconstruction of the different damaged infrastructures due to the ‘Gorkha’ quake and its aftershocks and for resettlement of the quake survivors.

A total of Rs 8.40 billion relief amount has already been distributed so far to the quake-hit people through the Home Ministry.

Shrestha, Acharya and Koirala appointed as quake survivor goodwill ambassadors

Similarly, the meeting appointed artists Madan Krishna Shrestha, Hari Bansha Acharya and Manisha Koirala as ‘quake-survivor goodwill ambassadors’ to collect financial aid for the quake survivors as well as decided to provide Rs 600,000 to the family of Puja Singh, 7, who was killed after rape, as a relief.

The Guideline for Mobilization of Scholarship Doctor and Health Person-2071 was amended in order to assign the doctors and health workers, who studied under government scholarship, to any place any time across the country at times of natural disasters.

The meeting also decided to recommend a proposal to the President to exempt the remaining jail term of those prisoners who have demonstrated good conduct and completed 50 per cent of their jail term till June 15.

Similarly, Dilip Regmi has been appointed the Chief at the National Investigation Department and Ganesh Prasad Adhikari the Additional Chief while Sanjeev Gautam has been appointed the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Sugatratna Kansakar the General Manager of the Nepal Airlines Corporation, Dut Bahadur Gurung the General Manager of the National Housing Development Company Ltd and Purushottam Amatya the Executive Director of the International Conference Centre Development Committee.
