Sagtani Group (SG) has announced that it will host the SG Open Golf Championship at Gokarna Golf Club from Friday. The two-day event is an amateur event and SG plans to make the tournament an annual event from now onwards. It also plans to host professional golf events from next year.
The amateur event will feature 110 players and will include men, women, senior and junior golfers from the country. Junior golfers will play on Friday and others will contest on Saturday. The tournament will be played over 18 holes on a stable ford format with 3/4 handicap.
According to SG, the winners of the men’s and women’s category will receive a washing machine while the runner-ups and the best gross, junior winner, senior winner will receive a microwave each. SG plans to offer cash prizes and other incentives to professional golfers when it organizes professional golf tournaments next year.
