The indefinite strike called by the Federal Limbuwan State Council (FLSC) has crippled daily life in the eastern Nepal for the fourth day as the government has failed to resolve the crisis. FLSC had announced the indefinite strike demanding its representation in the State Restructuring Commission (SRC). It has also demanded the formation of an autonomous Limbuwan State.
Nine districts, east of the Arun River, have been affected by the strike that began from December 11. The local chamber of commerce and civil society leaders have failed to convince FLSC to call of the strike while the government seems indifferent to the plight of the common citizens.
FLSC has sad that the strike could only be withdrawn if the government initiate talks with the council and guarantees that their demands would be met.
