President of Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA), Joseph “Sepp” Blatter has arrived in Kathmandu. He landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at noon on Thursday (March 8). Minister for Youths and Sports Kamala Rokka, National Sports Council Secretary Yubraj Lama and All Nepal Football Association President Ganesh Thapa received Blatter in the VIP lounge of TIA.
The head of the world governing body of football arrived here for the inauguration for the AFC Challenge Cup which kicked off here today at 3pm (NST). As scheduled, Blatter met President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai and are currently watching the second match of the day Nepal Vs Palestine (Current Score 0-1) at Dashrath Stadium.
The first match was played between Turkmenistan and Maldives at Halchowk stadium. Turkmenistan beat Maldives 3-1.
