The United States government has opened the entry submissions for the Electronic Diversity Visa Lottery 2017 starting from October 1, 2015.

According to a press statement issued by the US Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs, the application period for the DV visa program application lasts till November 3, 2015 (10:45 pm local time). “We strongly encourage DV program entrants to apply early,” said the statement.

The US embassy in Nepal has clarified that there is no fee involved to enter the DV lottery. “The U.S. Embassy recommends against using a consultant to assist you with your application. Please consider using a family member, friend or other trusted person if you need assistance. No matter who provides assistance, you are solely responsible for your own application,” the embassy has cautioned.

Applicants may access the electronic Diversity Visa entry form (E-DV) at www.dvlottery.state.gov during the registration period.

The results for DV 2017 will be released on May 3, 2016. Selectees may enter their DV-2017 entry confirmation number into the Entrant Status Check at http://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ESC/ to find out whether their DV-2017 entry was selected or not. DV-2017 data will be available through the Entrant Status Check until at least September 30, 2016.
