As strange as it may sound to our ears having been experiencing incessant price hikes, a private college in the capital has set Rs 100 as its tuition fee, effective from this academic session, targeting students coming from families with low-income.
Located in Bouddha, Samata College affiliated to Tribhuvan University has formally started its four-year management program and three-year program for humanities faculty.
According to founder member Uttam Sanjel, the institution have admitted 100 students – 50 in management and 50 in humanities faculty since it is an initial phase of their program.
Such an initiative is highly appreciated in a time when other private institutions are demanding to hike tuition fee.
Samata College was inaugurated at a function participated by comedian duo Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya, Anuradha Koirala and Dr Upendra Mahato on December 24, 2013, Tuesday.
