There is no lack of talent in Nepalese youth these days. It’s just a matter of how they utilize it and the amount of exposure they get. and two youngsters Rohit John Chetri and Ashesh Kulung Rai are trying to do and have their best at both.
For thousands of youth in Nepal, going abroad for studies is a cherished dream. These days it has become more of a trend and every other person you know is either planning to go abroad or is already there. Given all the problems our country is facing at present, it is understandable why youth would want to opt for foreign countries.
Weddings in Nepal, like many other cultures in the world are family affairs, no matter whether they are (as Nepali people say) “love marriages” or arranged marriages. (Yes, arranged marriages, though waning, are still a part of the culture of Nepal – though I am pleased to say that I was attending a “love marriage”.
Meet Yashita Dewan- a “free spirited” fashion designer and photographer from Nepal. Born and raised in Kathmandu, she went to Mumbai, India, after completing high school, to pursue her love for fashion. This beauty with brains has all that it takes to change the fashion scene in Nepal. She assures us that we will be seeing more of her in the near future, working actively at what she does best – fashion and photography.
In our country, people follow a lot of superstitions in their day to day lives. Many beliefs have been passed down from generation to generation and people follow them blindly. Our culture and traditions are shrouded in mysticism and for many people, superstitions have become a way of life, although there is no logical explanation as to how these beliefs came into practice.

In religious terms, marriage is a holy sacrament in which man and woman unite in a bond of eternal love. As little children growing up, we heard stories of princesses living happily ever after with their handsome prince.
Milan Rai is a talented young visual artist, who has made it his mission to transform Kathmandu into a butterfly city. That wasn’t his initial plan though. It was while working on a project called ‘Katha Bagaichako’ , that he got sidetracked. It had been 7-8 months since he’d been working on that project and to put it in his own words, ‘I had a different goal, but I got to explore a lot of new things on the way to my destination.’

They say the best things in life are free- and star gazing proves that point perfectly well. You don’t always need a lot of money to enjoy the little things in life. My love for star gazing started when I was a little girl and my parents told me about the stars and the planets. Both my parents are interested in astronomy and they often showed me the North Star, Orion’s Belt, the Great Dipper and planet Venus.
So you’ve probably heard the infectious song “Gangnam Style” by South Korean sensation Psy, and may have even tried the “cheesy” dance steps, but you probably have no idea what the song is about. Well, to clear things up a little bit, the song is about living life “Gangnam style”.

Nepali youth in Dallas are organizing a fundraising walkathon to support five deserving non-profit organizations working for the betterment of various sectors in Nepal. Walk for Nepal Dallas will take place at Bachman Lake on Saturday, October 20, 2012.
