The International Elephant Race and Chitwan Elephant Festival has kicked off at Sauraha, a tourist hub in Chitwan district from December 26, Wednesday. There will some 24 teams competing for the title. Besides the race, elephant calf football championship, elephant beauty contest, horse-drawn cart race, push-cart race and different types of contests are the highlights of the festival.
The preparations for the 8th Miss Newa 1133 has officially begun. The orientation for the upcoming ethnic beauty pageant was held on December 15, Saturday, where former Miss Newa/VJ Supriya Tuladhar, media personality Nirnaya da NSK and Bhai Raja Tuladhar gave briefing about the show to all 32 contestants.
