Metropolitan Police Range, Hanumandhoka arrested a Nepali Army soldier with 13 kg hashish from Sundarijal on the northern outskirts of Kathmandu on December 27, Tuesday.
The arrestee has been identified as Hudda (sergeant) Khem Bahadur Pun. He had his posting in the Shivapuri-based Kali Bahadur Batallion, and was deputed at the Chisapani Post, Sundarijal in the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park.
Pun hails from Dahakhani of Chitwan district.
SP Rajendra Shrestha, Kathmandu police chief, said the armyman was found in possession of the contraband stuffed in a bag during a security check in Sundarijal.
He will be charged under the Narcotic Durng (Control and Punishment) Act.
