Nepal put its feet closer to quarterfinals in AFC U-16 champi0nship as they defeated Kuwait 2-1 at Muang Thong Stadium.
Nepal U-16 went through remarkable victory with the fastest goal lead of the tournament against Kuwait U-16 in the second group match of the AFC U-16 Championship.
Nepal now have four points from two matches and will play against DPR Korea in their last match on September 9.
Nepal punched Kuwait in the first two minutes of the match as Kuwaiti captain Shabaib Al Khaldi gifted Nepal an own goal.
Before the official confirmation, Bimal Ghati Magar and Anjan Bista went for the goal celebration. Actually, it was Anjan Bista who slightly touched the ball before the ball kissed the net.
Nepal,who stopped defending champions Uzbekistan 1-1 is the previous group match, played a fantastic football from the very first and dominated the 2012 quarter-finalists Kuwait. Kuwait nearly leveled the score but Ananta Tamang tied his meadow clearing the ball from goal line in the 13th minute after goalie Roman Rasaili was beaten.
Soon after Nepal threatened the Kuwaiti with Skipper and Anderlectht striker Bimal Gharti Magar to fire the first shot on the target that moved little wide.
Kuwait did tried their best to come back into the game in the closing minutes of the first half but luck deserted Nepal as Meshal’s saw his shot rattle the bar.
Kuwait leveled the score in the 75th minute in a spot kick that Kuwait earned for the foul of Aakash Thapa Magar.
Bimal Gharti Magar put Nepal ahead in the 81st minute through a spot-kick.
