Nepali film star Rekha Thapa has joined the Rastriya Prajatantra Party(RPP).

In a function organised by the party in the Capital on Monday (December 12, 2016), RPP Chairman Kamal Thapa welcomed the actress to the party.

The star expressed her pleasure in joining the party at the event adding that her spirit matched with the party since she was a Hindu and a nationalist.

One of the biggest names in Nepali film industry, Thapa has played as the lead actress in several Nepali movies.

Few weeks ago, famous Nepali folk singer Komal Oli had also joined the RPP.

Previously, it was widely rumoured that actress Thapa was close to the CPN Maoist Centre.
