An upcoming actress has committed suicide. Jessica Khadka, whose real name was Jyoti, was found dead in her apartment at Basantapur on Tuesday, June 12. She had hanged herself with a shawl.

The actress hailing from Itahari first entered the film industry with the movie Awaaz. She later went on to star in numerous projects such as Jungle Queen, Lucky Seven, Achanak, Mero Maya Timilai, and she had recently finished work for the movie Gahirai. Few years ago, she was also involved in the Prakash Ojha scandal about indecent videos of underage girls.

Khadka was with her boyfriend and younger brother. Her body was taken for post-mortem at 10 in the morning at Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj. After the police went through her call records, she had last spoken to production controller Baaldeep Rai. Hence, Rai has been taken in for investigation.
