A McDonald’s employee of Nepali origin has won the Manager of the Year Award 2015 for its chain in Europe.
Pramesh Raj Giri of Dattatraya, Bhaktapur was presented the honour established in memory of Ray Kroc, the founder of McDonald’s by outwitting 1,400 managers across Europe.
A student of business management, the 25-year-old Bhaktapur local has been working for the world’s largest fast food chain in Britain. Giri has been living there for the past six years.
Giri received the award at a function held in Prague, the capital of Czech Republic recently. Speaking to RSS from his base in Britain, Giri said, “My struggle for work and honesty has been recognized, and is a matter of pride for Nepal as well.”
