Armed Police Force (APF) ladies football team have never lost, rather have won all tournaments they have participated so far after their establishment.
APF are playing against Nepal Police Club in the final of 14th Ncell National Women Championship scheduled in Simara, Bara on Saturday.
APF sidelined Kailali 4-0 in the first semifinal while Cops ousted arch-rivals Nepal Army 2-0.
Nepal Police Club coach Sandesh Shrestha is excited for the final match and expects his charges will give their hearts out to win the title.
“We worked really hard throughout the year for this championship and we don’t want to make it a waste”, Shrestha said, “Our strikers are in top form and girls are playing as a team. We are excited to play in the final match and we want to win the title”.
Cops have three National players in the team.
Striker Chandra Bhandari is one of them who is showing her class in the on-going championship. Niru Thapa is another National player who is the player to be watched in the final match from Cops side.
APF have 12 Nepal National team players. Anu Lama is the goal machine of the team.
“We are not just banking on her”, APF manager Prem Shrestha said, “We have good players in the team. Girls want to add another feather on their hats by winning the championship. Police are good side but the morale is high in the team and I am confident that we will win the title”.
